The friends that got away
If my friends from high school are "the real deal" then there really shouldn't be any problems because we did go through a lot together. Our teen years were awkward and the majority of my friends had braces and we were all so excited when someone was able to FINALLY get them off. As friends, we got through crazy, hard classes, we had to deal with teachers that weren't so nice to us, we learned to drive together, we all had to find dates to those dances, and then deal with the, sometimes awful, day activities, we studied and took the ACT together, we applied to colleges together, and we made it to graduation together.
Now, don't get me wrong, I'm not trying to throw a pity party for myself, I'm honestly just trying to work through what really happened.

Day 5
A photo of yourself from high school.
High school is an experience I never wish to have again, especially a high school graduation. Sure it was nice not having a ton of responsibility and the only worry was Woody's English class and whether or not my homework was finished for her. I was involved in student government all throughout high school, as well as orchestra and choir. My senior year I took on entirely too much, stressed myself out to no end, and lost a lot of my close friends. Senior year I was in orchestra and choir. I was a Student Body Officer and the editor-in-chief of the yearbook, and I had a part time job. I was also taking AP classes that included a TON of homework.
If I could go back and do it all over again, I wouldn't have involved myself in as much as I did. I still would have worked, because I needed the money for college, the AP classes would have been there, but I probably wouldn't have done student government and I would have taken a different approach to the yearbook (I still can't look at it and I've been graduated for 3 years.) Shoulda, woulda, coulda. I learned a valuable lesson, enjoy life.

Day 4
Your favorite photograph of your best friend.
Neight is my best friend, always and forever, but for this post I'm going to focus on someone else.
As weird as this is to say, Emily, my beautiful sister is my best friend. This is weird because we fought ALL the time growing up. We actually weren't close at all until I got married. At that point we both grew up a little bit and realized that we would always be there for each other.
It seems like I've always had a hard time making and keeping friends. I'm not sure why, but even now as an adult out of high school, I can't get it right. Luckily for me, my sister kind of has to be my friend.
Emily is so inspiring! During her senior year she was senior class secretary (talk about stressful!) and also the Sterling Scholar from Granger in the Trade and Technical Education category. Being part of the senior class student government, Emily was in charge of planning Senior Ball AND graduation!!!! She also put a lot of hard work into being a Sterling Scholar with applications, portfolios, and interviews. After Emily graduated the first week in June she moved down to Cedar City to finish her cosmetology hours and start her college career. During her junior year, Emily, was able to start working as a cosmetologist in the school district's lab. She started working towards her 2000 hours she needed before she could take the state board to become licensed. Unfortunately there were a lot of bumps in the road and she wasn't able to complete the hours in high school. The week after Emily moved down to Cedar she started at a cosmetology college in hopes to finish her 2000 hours and get her license. She definitely has more guts than I did right out of high school. I'm not too worried about her. She has a good head on her shoulders and is very motivated.
Emily is coming home to visit tomorrow! I am so excited to see her and spend time with her!
