10 Weeks, Fat Feet, and Uncomfortable Heartburn

Well, the beginning of the end is here. I only have 10 weeks left until the baby is due..... talk about TERRIFYING! There's still a lot that I need to do to get ready for this baby. Mostly shopping since we only have a few outfits, a car seat, and a stroller for her. I don't have an updated picture since I'm super self conscious about how I'm looking these days. Maybe if I feel up to it I'll take one this week.

Up to this point I've stayed pretty active, I'm still working 30 hours a week, going to school, and keeping the house up to par. Well, the house may not be up to par, but I'm still trying. My biggest issue the last few weeks is that my feet and ankles have started to retain water. At first it wasn't a big deal, but now on Friday's and Saturday's I can feel how fat my feet are and it hurts to walk sometimes. At my last doctor appointment my doctor didn't mention anything about it, but I think when I go in a couple of weeks I'll ask him if it's anything to worry about.

Another beauty of this pregnancy is the slight heartburn that I've had for the last two days. It's not excessive and isn't really effecting me, it's just a weird sensation since I've never had heartburn before. I may be investing in tums very shortly or avoid the foods that create heartburn, if I can keep track of them.

On a positive note it's so fun to feel the baby move around. She's not big enough to hurt me at this point so I'm still enjoying it. Neight has felt her move a few times, the first time kind of freaked him out :) I think he's ready for the next 10 weeks to be over so he can hold her. At least, I hope so.

In other news, here are a few pictures of things we've been up to since my last post.
This isn't a very good picture, but my littlest sister Angie was Glinda in her school's production of the Wizard of Oz. She made the perfect Glinda and did an excellent job!

Last week Neight and my dad started framing in walls in the nursery since there's no insulation and one day I walked in there and found Munchquen chilling in the framework for the closet. She climbed to the top step of a ladder and then jumped into the framework. She's so weird!

Again, this isn't a very good picture, but for my birthday Neight gave me this beautiful necklace. It's a heart with a mom and a baby on the inside. I love it!

A few weeks ago I caught a cold, lucky me, but Neight brought me home flowers to help make me feel better :)

This is a picture of a delicious dinner Neight made. I love how he knows what goes together and I love the presentation he does. The colors are so full of spring, I just love it!

A house and a husband

Yesterday I was thankful for my house. Yesterday was a very crazy and busy day at work and I was very happy to come home and relax. Today I am very thankful for my husband. He's the best! He helps me with the house work, he puts up with my crazy mood swings, he let me get a kitty, and he's always there to talk to :)

The Sunday Morning Blog

I am seriously considering changing the name of my blog to "The Sunday Morning Blog" because that's the only time I ever get a chance to update it. I probably shouldn't even be doing that right now. I woke up at 9 this morning and feel like I should have woke up earlier than that. Here's my "to do" list today:
* Homework (Blech! I have a Spanish midterm on Tuesday... I won't do too hot)
* Laundry!!!!!! (It could be worse)
* Dishes (Luckily there aren't too many)
* Make my "new food" for the last couple of weeks (Caramel apple cheesecake! DELICIOUS!)
* Finish my application for the School of Education (YIKES!!!!)
* Animal Sit (Gotta love when the cat and dog pick on each other)

It's finally October!!!!!! I have recently decided that fall is my favorite season and October is my favorite month of the year :)

Thursday this last week I went to dinner with an "old" friend. (I say old because we were friends in high school, not because we're old) It was nice to talk and catch up. I seriously needed some girl time and I really enjoyed it.

Hope everyone has an awesome week :) Fall break is coming up soon :) AND thanks to Columbus I get a day off from work in a weekish :)

Happy Days

It has been forever since I've been able to post anything :( and I don't really have a whole lot of time right now either. I'm staying very busy with school and work and our animals. 15 credits is something that I will never do, ever again. On a positive note, if things go according to plan (ha ha ha) I will be graduating Spring 2014. It seems forever, but it makes sense. I have two more years for just the regular elementary education courses and a year for my minor. I never thought it would have taken me six years to get my bachelors degree. Such is life though.

I have been making new things each week, and so far all but one had been delicious. Since I last posted I've made a chicken salad for sandwiches, a devils food cake with raspberry filling and cream cheese frosting, and a Mexican casserole.
This is the only picture that I was able to take. It doesn't look as pretty as it could have been because I was in a rush to put the frosting on it.

With sumer slowly turning into fall I have turned the air conditioning up and opened the windows. I guess it gets too hot for our animals because I walked in the house one day and Zildjin was sitting in front of the fan I had on.

Then yesterday I walked in the kitchen to find my kitty sleeping in a box of water that was on the table.

It was so adorable, I just had to take a picture :) She even started tearing the box apart.

That's the last three weeks in a nut shell. Enjoy the next few weeks :) We're going camping this upcoming weekend. Hopefully we don't freeze again.

First week of School

Last week was my first week of classes at Westminster. I'm actually really excited about how my first two days went. The classes are pretty small and I'm going to get all the attention I need. All of my instructors seem very willing to help me succeed. Westminster has a very good reputation for teachers and they will do whatever they can to keep that. I guess I'm just lucky :)

My first day of classes :)

She's so cute!

Such a silly kitty

My new food for this week was Zucchini bread. It was DELICIOUS! I made some little muffins too so Neight could grab some on his way out the door in the mornings. I was silly and forgot to let the loaf cool entirely before trying to take it out of the time. Oops. Next time I won't make that mistake.

Yummy, yummy!

Day 27

A picture of you last year and now and how have you changed since then?

Then

Now

It was very hard for me to find a picture from last year. I'm definitely not the kind of girl that takes a million and a half pictures of myself and I don't really do anything fun to take picture of.

So, about a year ago I decided to try blonde. It took a while to convince Neight to agree with me, not that I really needed his approval, but more of an agreement that it would look good. This year I am closer to my natural hair color and my hair is about twice as long as it was last year. I haven't had an actual hair cut since March of 2010, but I have had a few trims in between.

Since last year I have also lost 9 pounds and I have been able to keep it off. Last year Neight and I moved from a two bedroom apartment to a one bedroom apartment, this year we moved from the one bedroom apartment to a decent sized house. Last year I had a small, adorable, little kitten and now I have a big, bratty, cute kitty. Last year I was a student at Salt Lake Community College with no degree and this year I am a student at Westminster College and I have an Associates degree in Science.

That's about all that I can think of that's changed in the last year, nothing to exciting.

Day 21

A photo of something that makes you happy

My little family

I'm so glad I was able to find this picture! I took this one night shortly after we got my kitty, Munchquen. I call her a crazy crack kitty because she has so much energy! She loves to run around and play. I feel kind of bad that she's been stuck in a small apartment for the majority of her first year, but she's managed. I'm sure she will go nuts when we move into our house next week. What's even better is that all the floors are hardwood or vinyl. It's going to be so funny to watch her slide through the house.

Anyway, these two individuals are what make me happy. Neight decided that we could get a cat after a year of me saying that I didn't like being home alone. Even though Munchquen sleeps most of the time, I still feel her presence and it's not so bad, but I still miss Neight. Neight is and always will be the love of my life. I'm happiest when we are spending time together, even when I read and he plays video games.... At least we don't text each other when we're in the same room.

For right now these two are my family, I'm sure that we'll have children eventually, but that probably won't be for a few more years.
